Fair Future Foundation’s Clean Water Awareness Event: Documentary Film Screening, Discussions, and Performances to Combat Water Scarcity in Rural Indonesia on June 14.
Celebrate our 15th anniversary by joining a vital event to discover sustainable solutions for accessing clean water in rural Indonesia.
Access to clean water is a daily challenge for many families living in remote rural areas of far-eastern Indonesia. Fair Future has worked tirelessly for years to bring innovative and sustainable solutions to these vulnerable communities. The film “Matawai, the nuances of water” is a poignant testimony to these issues and our efforts on the ground.
What do we do on the ground?
We intervene directly in Indonesia’s most remote and disadvantaged villages to improve access to clean water. Our actions include:
- Installing clean water systems: Through the Water Connections Program, we build wells, rainwater harvesting systems, and water distribution infrastructure to ensure a constant supply of clean water;
- Education and awareness: We conduct workshops to educate communities on hygiene practices, disease prevention, and sustainable water use;
- Disease prevention: By improving access to clean water and teaching proper sanitary practices, we reduce the incidence of infectious diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dysentery;
- Community development: We work closely with local residents to identify their needs and develop tailored solutions, strengthening their resilience and autonomy.
Our teams consist of healthcare professionals, engineers, social workers, and dedicated volunteers who share a deep commitment to the well-being of local communities. Through our participatory approach, we actively involve community members in every step of our projects, ensuring their sustainability.
The importance of the film
“Matawai, the Shades of Water” raises awareness and mobilizes the necessary support to continue our actions. By sharing the harsh realities of those living in extreme poverty, this film aims to awaken consciences and inspire action.
