WHO mentors guide East Sumba analysts to improve the accuracy and speed of malaria care – East Sumba Malaria Prevention Project 2025.
In East Sumba, malaria remains a significant health challenge. To address this, the Fair Future Foundation, Rotary International, Malaria Partners International, Kawan Baik Indonesia, and local authorities organised a two-day training session for the region’s 28 laboratory analysts.
These professionals represent all medical centres and the RSUD Hospital. Under the guidance of WHO-certified mentors, participants refined their skills by reviewing more than 100 complex slides each, with a focus on microscopy, slide reading, and equipment maintenance. This training not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also facilitates the initiation of treatment.
With its Swiss expertise and 16 years of field experience, the Fair Future Foundation continues to support local health systems in the fight against malaria.
