In one of the driest regions on the planet, Fair Future wants to build a 110 cubic meter rainwater tank to ensure sustainable access to water for around 300 residents.
This new “Picture of the Day” is significant as our team stands with the villagers at the proposed site to construct a 110m³ semi-buried water tank. You can view the plans here. After enduring nine difficult months of drilling in Laindatang, which stretched us physically and emotionally, we were confronted with the harsh realities imposed by nature’s constraints in this arid region where water scarcity constantly challenges survival.
Laindatang, a community of nearly 300 people, including 100 children, is located in one of the driest regions on the planet. Despite our considerable efforts over the past two years to build numerous water tanks and sanitation facilities, these measures have proven insufficient to meet the urgent needs of this highly arid area.
The drilling efforts failed to produce water due to natural obstacles beyond our control, which is a setback. However, we remain determined and adaptable in the face of challenges. With this upcoming 110m³ reservoir that we plan to build quickly, we now have a robust solution that will allow us to collect rainwater, filter it, and provide essential access to water to the community.
Once completed, this reservoir will be an innovative, practical, and life-saving solution for these families, helping them overcome the severe water shortages here and improve their well-being. We appreciate your support in our mission to provide vital water to Laindatang and bring hope where needed most.
Thank you very much for your interest and help.
