Education remains a powerful tool in the fight against malaria. Over four days, Fair Future and its partners engaged hundreds of villagers across four communities in Umalulu, East Sumba.
By sharing prevention messages, conducting role-plays, and encouraging open discussions, we effectively addressed questions and raised awareness about malaria symptoms and treatments. Children, women, and men participated actively, blending laughter with learning. Rapid diagnostic tests and slide readings identified positive cases, which were treated immediately, along with the distribution of insecticide-treated nets.
Part of the East Sumba Malaria Prevention Project 2025 and building on a study conducted earlier this year, this initiative, supported by Malaria Partners International, Rotary, Kawan Baik Indonesia, and local authorities, shows that direct knowledge sharing in villages can save lives and empower communities.
