The Primary Medical Care program focuses on disseminating medical guidance. We offer straightforward, practical advice to Kawan Sehat agents, who then relay it to rural communities. Fair Future’s medical teams, led by Dr. Narni, offer vital healthcare services to remote villages in East Sumba. Utilizing the Truck of Life, they address illnesses, combat malnutrition, and advocate for clean water access to ensure no community is overlooked. Their commitment is essential in regions where healthcare remains out of reach and infectious diseases go unchecked.
We have distributed our healthy living posters to local Puskesmas (health centers), and their directors were delighted. The posters are engaging and easy to comprehend, incorporating local characters and language. Teaching rural communities simple methods for disease prevention, such as handwashing, is truly rewarding.
This life-saving training is part of Fair Future Foundation’s mission to equip health agents with essential skills to treat illnesses and injuries in ultra-rural areas. The training empowers these agents to act swiftly and improve healthcare access for thousands of vulnerable people.
Work is in full swing at Rumah Kambera, East Sumba, where we are preparing a three-day training session for dozens of Kawan Sehat health agents. Around 50 people, including doctors and nurses, will gather to learn how to provide life-saving care in regions with no medical resources. This is a unique, life-saving program.
We’ve created dozens of recycled-material bags, marked with the Red Cross logo, to carry life-saving medical supplies for Kawan Sehat health agents. These bags, filled with medicines, disinfectants, and medical tools, will be loaded onto the Truck of Life as we begin the third year of our #PrimaryMedicalCare program in East Sumba.
With our Rotary International partners, we’ve printed thousands of posters promoting healthy living and disease prevention in regions where diseases like malaria are endemic. These posters, available in both laminated and fabric formats, will be distributed across ultra-rural areas, schools, medical centers, and public spaces.
We’re excited to introduce a new guidebook for teachers and storytellers using our Kawan Sehat book for children in isolated rural areas. This guide offers a clear, step-by-step approach to explaining the book effectively, ensuring that vital information is consistently and clearly conveyed. It will be distributed to all teachers along with the Kawan Sehat book.
The first medicines are arriving, and we’re sorting and packing them. In a few days, we’ll transport them to East Sumba with our two fully loaded trucks. These medicines are vital, as we’re nearly the sole provider for hundreds of thousands of people. Thank you for supporting the third year of our #PrimaryMedicalCare program.
Child malnutrition in rural areas affects children’s physical and mental well-being.
