To reach ultra-rural villages, we rely on the Truck of Life to navigate rough, broken roads. This vehicle allows us to deliver essential supplies, including medicines, water, tools, solar kits, and food. Logistics play a crucial role in our program; without access to fuel, spare parts, and the commitment to long days on the road, we would be unable to reach the patients in need.

Addressing the dangers of unsafe water sources and working to provide safe, clean water in remote communities.
After nine months of drilling in Laindatang for the #WaterConnections project, we are halting the work due to technical and geological challenges. The new plan is to build a 100-cubic-meter rainwater reservoir to provide clean water for 300 people. Drilling will resume after the reservoir is completed.
In 2025, the Water Connections project aims to provide clean water and sanitation in Lapinu Village, improving health and reducing preventable diseases. The initiative will engage villagers in sustainable solutions, helping families achieve better health, nutrition, and a dignified life.
We’ve completed two days of project studies in the ultra-rural village of Lapinu and hope to begin a six-month Water Connections program in January 2025. The project will provide clean water infrastructure and a well for nearly 60 families living in extreme isolation. More details to come soon!
Fair Future actively supports ultra-rural communities with limited access to a diverse diet by raising awareness about local food resources. Our nutritionists teach families how to identify and prepare wild plants, fruits, and vegetables that are highly nutritious. In East Sumba, washing hands is a lifesaving act. Fair Future Foundation’s ‘Let’s Wash Your Hands’ campaign, through Water Connections, has installed sinks in schools and villages, helping children fight diseases and grow healthily.
Four Pillars for Healthy Living” serves as Fair Future’s guide for ultra-rural communities, emphasizing balanced lifestyle pillars: physical activity, nutrition, hygiene, and rest. This guide encourages daily exercise, a diet rich in fresh foods, regular washing with soap and water, and adequate rest for mental and physical health, aiming to enhance individual and community well-being.
Fill Your Plate with Healthy Food” is an initiative by Fair Future Foundation aimed at enhancing health in ultra-rural areas. This educational poster, designed as a food pyramid, highlights the importance of balanced nutrition with locally sourced foods. It serves as an interactive tool to encourage communities to adopt healthier eating habits, thereby reducing diet-related diseases and improving children’s focus, while promoting sustainable dietary practices
