The Phase III Laindatang Water Connections report details nine months of dedicated work to address the water crisis in East Sumba. Despite facing numerous challenges, the community and Fair Future are committed to overcoming them and have proposed innovative plans for a 100m³ reservoir set to be constructed by 2025, guaranteeing sustainable access to clean water.
Introducing our new logistics truck, the “Truck n’Load,” equipped with a 1,000-liter water tank to deliver clean water to remote villages. As previously stated, Fair Future has ceased the drilling project after nine months of extensive efforts. Over the last three weeks, our focus has shifted to an alternative solution: constructing a 100m³ underground rainwater reservoir to supply clean water to a community in urgent need. Project plans and cost estimates are attached for your review.
After nine months of drilling efforts in Laindatang, Fair Future has stopped operations due to safety concerns and technical challenges. The focus is now on building a rainwater harvesting system to provide clean water to the village.
After nine months of drilling in Laindatang for the #WaterConnections project, we are halting the work due to technical and geological challenges. The new plan is to build a 100-cubic-meter rainwater reservoir to provide clean water for 300 people. Drilling will resume after the reservoir is completed.
We’ve completed two days of project studies in the ultra-rural village of Lapinu and hope to begin a six-month Water Connections program in January 2025. The project will provide clean water infrastructure and a well for nearly 60 families living in extreme isolation. More details to come soon!

Fair Future continues its groundbreaking work in Laindatang, one of the driest regions in the world. During this crucial test phase of deep well drilling, the goal is to provide access to vital water for over 600 people, including many children. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that these remote communities can flourish through improved health, nutrition, and hygiene.
We purchased a pump to test at the Laindatang drilling site for the Water Connections Phase 3 project. Over the past three days, we’ve been testing the pump to determine if the water flow is sufficient for 600 people after six months of drilling.
After completing Phase 2 of the Laindatang Water Connections, we have successfully provided clean water and improved health in Laindatang. This initiative has significantly upgraded their quality of life by reducing infectious diseases and promoting healthier lifestyles.
