The Fair Future volunteers are not just helpers; they are the heart and soul of our work. They ignite a shared passion that underpins our efforts and constantly strive to help marginalized communities in the most remote areas of Sumba and other regions through their tireless dedication. Whether from Java or elsewhere in Indonesia, these skilled individuals come together with the bold goal of enriching lives.
Over a hundred dedicated individuals support our programs. Thanks to their efforts, we can achieve an exceptional ratio of 93% of funds going directly to projects, which would not be possible otherwise. The volunteers demonstrate high commitment by showing professionalism and passion in their work. Many come from backgrounds similar to those they are helping, making this cause deeply personal and giving insight into these communities’ challenges.
Each volunteer contributes meaningfully, from building water tanks and toilets to providing medical assistance and preventing infectious diseases like malaria. They also educate villagers on healthy eating habits and hygiene practices, among other things. Despite seeming insignificant, each act they perform is a crucial addition to building our future foundations for a better future.

As we enter the third year of our Primary Medical Care Program and continue to fight infectious diseases, we anticipate numerous obstacles and achievements. Our dedicated volunteers are integral to these efforts, bringing their vigour and commitment to every step we take. Alex said: "-For 17 years, my commitment to Fair Future has been total. As a 100% volunteer, I was responsible for all medical programs in the field, even two years before the foundation was created in Switzerland. I am so proud to say again that Every franc spent is directly invested in our actions on the ground, carefully managed to maximize the impact of our projects. Over the past 15 years, we have helped hundreds of thousands of people directly and even more indirectly impacted by our public health programs, access to primary medical care, clean water and safe sanitation.
What sets us apart is our presence on the ground. We, the Swiss members of the Fair Future board of directors, are involved in every action. We speak the local languages and dialects and live alongside the communities we serve almost seven days a week. Take the "Truck of Life" for example: I drive it myself, taking it to places where no one else goes. Every mission and every kilometre travelled is a step closer to a healthier life and better well-being for families".

But our action would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers. A hundred young people, mainly from East Sumba but also from Java and Sumatra, mobilize daily. These boys and girls are the beating heart of our foundation, present on the ground, in schools, villages and alongside families. Their work is essential. Without them, maintaining our ratio of 93% of funds directly allocated to projects would be impossible. Their dedication, energy, and passion prove that collective action can transform lives.
Our strength lies here: a simple, humble, human commitment to serving those who need it most. Every gesture counts; every action is another brick in the foundation we are building together for a better future.
