The Truck of Life provides medical care and essential resources to remote communities in Indonesia, supporting thousands of people in extremely remote villages.
The Truck of Life provides healthcare, medicines and solutions to areas without access to medical care.
In remote communities in Indonesia, where access to medical care is limited, the Truck of Life plays a vital role. Over the past three years, this well-equipped medical vehicle has been a huge help to countless people who would otherwise have no access to healthcare. Its importance lies in its ability to provide medical assistance in hard-to-reach areas where health centres and even roads are unavailable.
The Truck of Life is equipped with medical equipment, including an ultrasound machine, to monitor pregnancies and perform non-invasive medical examinations. It also has a dedicated refrigerator to safely transport temperature-sensitive medications, such as vaccines, which are essential in areas where high temperatures could compromise crucial treatments. In addition, the vehicle transports resources needed to treat infectious diseases, particularly malaria, which remains prevalent and endemic in many areas it serves.
“In places where roads don’t reach, the Truck of Life carries hope, healthcare, and the promise of a healthier future for all.” — Alex Wettstein, CEO and Founder of Fair Future
For the past three years, the Truck of Life has provided vital health services as part of its Primary Medical Care program. It travels to the most remote and isolated villages, providing medical assistance to those who would otherwise have no means of accessing doctors, medicines or vaccines. Without this service, many people would be left without treatment, worsening their health conditions due to lack of medical care.
Beyond providing essential health services, the Truck of Life also brings joy and a sense of excitement to these communities. Its vibrant and lively decorations never fail to excite children, who eagerly await its arrival as a sign of imminent help.
After undergoing crucial repairs, the Truck of Life is now ready to resume its journey on the road. It continues to play a vital role in the foundation’s initiatives, helping to provide medical assistance and resources to marginalized and neglected communities in Indonesia.
