Until last week, the 264 students of this school in East Sumba had no water in their school. As you can imagine, this posed unexpected sanitary problems for all the children, the teachers and the houses in the surrounding area. Fair Future has therefore decided to drill a deep well at the back of the school, and we have, thanks to our detection tools, found clean and clear water at a depth of almost 40 meters. A massive change for this community and the people who live nearby. Indeed, they will also be able to come and get water from this new deep well.
Malaria continues to pose a daily threat in this area. Through Kawan Against Malaria, we monitor cases, test all fevers, protect homes, and educate families. The use of bed nets, spraying, and prompt treatment turns statistical data into lives that endure quietly, rather than ending prematurely.

Nutrition and Food in Ultra-Rural Environments
In all of our programs to promote access to a healthy life and address the significant issues of malnutrition, we strive to improve the health of children. Fair Future, along with our team of nutritionists, develops balanced nutrition programs to promote healthy eating.
The Water, Nutrition & Survival category addresses core public health determinants that directly affect morbidity and mortality in ultra-rural settings. Articles document how limited access to safe water, adequate nutrition, and basic sanitation increases the risk of waterborne disease, malnutrition, dehydration, and infection. Interventions follow WHO public health standards, combining water infrastructure, food support, hygiene promotion, and community education. This category highlights field-based actions that stabilize health, prevent avoidable disease, and support survival where resources and healthcare access remain critically limited.
